I suppose it's the popular sentiment, but isn't it about time
people stopped trying to be politically correct, and started to consider
the possibility that maybe it's not always "okay?" After all, what reason
does anyone that's not gay have to encourage the gay lifestyle?
Couldn't the quote have been re-phrased as to not imply a thoughtless,
neutral, and frankly boring stance on homosexuality?
For example, the quote could be re-written as
"[insert name of celebrity] is gay, not that there's
anything right with it..." Because,
let's face it. If you're not gay, there's a good reason for it. The reason
is most likely that you think it's disgusting (gay sex, that is). In fact,
I'm sure that the average self-proclaimed enlightened or
open minded hippy finds gay sex repulsive and unpleasant (the proof
of course being in the fact that if they didn't, they'd probably be gay
themselves). So why are these people so addicted to catering to the gay
community's agenda? If you're not gay, WHY BOTHER? It's not like racial
discrimination here. You don't have a choice what race you are.
But you do have a choice to not have sex (and some people do choose not to).
Just because it's convenient for
someone to be a homosexual doesn't mean everyone else should be forced to
redefine age-old laws to accomodate their CHOICE.
You know what I'm tired of? Homosexuals with egos. People that feel compelled
to tell the entire universe that they're gay every chance they get, no matter
how irrelevant it is to anything, and no matter how little anyone seems to
care anymore. Really, nobody gives a shit. I'm tired of listening to
talk shows in which some guy calls up, and the first thing out of his mouth
is that he's gay (unless it has anything to do with what he's calling about,
which it usually doesn't). I mean, it's really getting out of hand. What
does who you sleep with have to do with anything? Does anyone really care?
I sure as hell don't, so why make the announcement? As far as I'm concerned,
homosexuality is a trend, it's getting way too much attention, and I'm
tired of it always being in the news. It's time people stopped worrying so
much about sounding like a bigot, and started to state their honest opinions,
without the bias of the gay community.
Everyone these days seems petrified of saying anything about
homosexuals. Just recently in fact, I read an article in which someone was
quoted saying "[insert name of celebrity] is gay, not
that there's anything wrong with it..." Not that there's anything
wrong with it? What's that supposed to mean?
